    The food hit the spot and was very very good. Great Bar food! The American smash burger tasted delicious! The Cobb salad was plentiful and filled with real bleu cheese crumbles. The hot wings were hot.

    We had set out with the dog, planning to reach Yardley for our usual, when misfortune struck: we lacked the essentials for the journey. Turning back, the day seemed to promise nothing but stretched shadows and a gnawing hunger until Firkin Tavern appeared--like finding an unexpected cool stream during a parched march. Honest, the deck was as inviting as an open field. I phoned--just a simple call to check--can we, with our dog, sit here? "Yes!" they said, not merely allowing but welcoming. We settled under the open sky, the deck vast and uncluttered, an echo of freedom that the road denied us that day. The menu, a list as generous as a spring/summer afternoon, offered more flavors than the colors in the sunset. The meal? It was as though each plate was a story told well.     The Firkin Tavern has it all. Great bartenders, excellent food and menu choices, a phenomenal beer list, good crowds, and great prices. We've visited here a few times and tried several dishes and everything was excellent. This is a "can't go wrong" spot with something for everyone. They even have a game room with pool tables, darts, and more.

    I find myself in the area about once a year for business and this is always one of the restaurants that I frequent. Solid bar food. The last time I was in, a few weeks ago, they were in the middle of a menu change so the options were fairly limited. Nevertheless, what they had was very good. I had a really good burger and my business colleague also enjoyed his meal. Good prices, nice atmosphere. You can eat on the bar side or the restaurant side.
